Vidlik - Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 13, 2026

The short version: Vidlik does not collect, sell or share any of your data, and we never see it. Your counters stay on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud database.

Data you create

Your counters (names, emoji, dates, colors, resets and their notes, goals, reminders and the awards you earn) are stored on the device where you use Vidlik. Vidlik has no server and no account of its own.

iCloud sync

When a device is signed in to iCloud, Vidlik keeps your counters in sync between your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch through your private CloudKit database in iCloud. That database belongs to your Apple Account and is stored and protected by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We, the developer, have no access to it. You can turn sync off at any time by turning iCloud off for Vidlik in your device's settings; Vidlik then works on that device alone.

Apple Watch

The watch app reads the same counters from your private iCloud database and stores a copy on the watch. The only thing it writes back is which award notifications you have already seen.

Widgets

Widgets read the same data through a shared App Group container on the same device. This happens entirely on the device.

Reminders and notifications

Reminders and award notifications are local notifications scheduled and delivered by the system on each of your devices. iPhone notifications can also appear on a paired Apple Watch. Nothing is sent to us.

Share images and photos

When you share a counter or an award, Vidlik draws the image on your device, and it goes only where you send it. If you choose Save Image, Vidlik asks for permission to add photos and only adds that image; it cannot see your photo library.

No accounts, no analytics, no tracking

Vidlik requires no sign-in of its own. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. The only network traffic is the iCloud sync described above, handled by Apple's system.

Purchases

The current version of Vidlik contains no purchases of any kind. If optional donations are added in a future version, they will be processed entirely by Apple through the App Store's in-app purchase system, and the developer will never receive your payment details.

Backups you export

On a Mac, when you export a backup, Vidlik writes a JSON file to the location you choose. That file is created locally and is under your control; treat it like any other personal document.

Deleting your data

You can permanently erase all your counters at any time: on a Mac in Settings → Data → Delete All Data, on iPhone or iPad with Select → Select All → Delete. With iCloud on, this removes them from all your devices and from your iCloud. Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device; data in iCloud can also be removed in your iCloud storage settings.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the current version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
